About WebHostingGuide.net
WebHostingGuide.net is an independent web hosting comparison and review site. Our audience is people who don't read web hosting reviews for fun. They have a project (a blog, a portfolio, an online store, a small business website) and they need a hosting plan that won't waste their first three weekends. We exist to make that decision faster and more honest.
Who's behind these reviews
Rai Ansar founded WebHostingGuide.net and personally runs the comparisons. He uses Hostinger, Hetzner, Cloudways and AWS today (the public sites measured on our real-numbers page run on Hostinger, Hetzner, AWS and Cloudflare), and used Bluehost, GoDaddy, Namecheap, and HostGator in the past. Where a claim on this site is first-hand experience, it's labeled as such; everything else is compared from each provider's published pricing, plans, specs, and terms, dated to when we checked. When a recommendation changes, the "Last updated" date on the page changes with it.

- Ecommerce hosting: WooCommerce on Cloudways, managed WooCommerce, the "do you actually need WordPress" honest take.
How we compare
We run our own production sites on Hostinger, Hetzner, and AWS. That first-hand use is the basis for anything on this site described as our own experience with those three. See our real response-time and Core Web Vitals numbers from those production sites, published September 2026. We also used Bluehost, GoDaddy, Namecheap, and HostGator in the past; where we describe that experience, it's our honest opinion, not a lab measurement (GoDaddy, Bluehost, and HostGator felt messy to manage; Namecheap was okayish).
For every other provider (Kinsta, WP Engine, DreamHost, SiteGround, Nexcess, Liquid Web, and others), we do not have first-hand hosting experience. We use Cloudways, but none of our measured public sites runs there. We quote its published specs rather than benchmark numbers of our own. Those comparisons are built from each provider's published pricing pages, plan specs, and terms of service, checked on the date shown on the page, not from running trial accounts or timed support tests. We don't claim testing we haven't done.
How we rank
We rank by what the user is actually trying to do, not by what pays us most. The cheapest plan that performs is usually better than the brand-name plan that's marked up. When we say a $2.99/mo plan beats a $19.99/mo plan for a specific use case, we mean it.
Affiliate relationships (disclosed)
We earn commissions when readers sign up for hosting services through our links, at no extra cost to the reader. Current relationships:

We have no affiliate relationship with any other host on this site, including Kinsta, DreamHost, Bluehost, Nexcess and Liquid Web. Links to them are plain links and pay us nothing.
We disclose this on every page and never recommend a provider purely because of commission size. See our full disclosure.
What we will not do
- We do not claim to have tested a provider unless we've actually used it.
- We do not rank providers by commission size.
- We have no affiliate relationship with SiteGround, so it is covered factually and linked plainly. Coverage and ranking never depend on commission.
- We do not promote "free hosting" services. The category is sketchy and we will not associate our editorial brand with it.
- We do not paywall, gate, or hide our recommendations behind a sign-up form.
- We do not accept paid placement, "sponsored review" arrangements, or sponsored guest posts.
